About the Australian Lungfish
A living fossil with a single lung that lets it breathe air when water is poor in oxygen. Its body plan has changed little in around 100 million years. Can live for many decades. A lungfish nicknamed Granddad lived at Chicago Shedd Aquarium from 1933 until 2017. Found only in a few Queensland rivers.
