About the Alligator Gar
One of the largest freshwater fish in North America, with a broad, alligator-like snout and double rows of fangs. Covered in hard, diamond-shaped ganoid scales. Can gulp air with its swim bladder, letting it survive in warm, oxygen-poor water. A lineage whose fossil record goes back many millions of years.
