About the Flathead Catfish
Can reach 1.5 meters and 56 kg. Nocturnal ambush hunters. Their barbels (whiskers) are loaded with taste buds — they literally taste their surroundings. Popular sport fish in the US. Native to Mississippi basin but widely introduced. Excellent table fare.
