About the Oarfish
The longest bony fish at up to 11 meters. Live at 200-1,000 meters depth. Likely the source of sea serpent legends. Rarely seen alive — most knowledge comes from dead specimens washing ashore. Have no scales. Their dorsal fin runs the entire length of the body and rises in a dramatic red crest above the head.
