About the Lemon Shark
Named for the yellowish tint of its skin, which camouflages it over sandy bottoms. One of the best-studied sharks thanks to decades of research at Bimini in the Bahamas. Females return to the nursery areas where they were born to give birth. Young sharks spend their first years in shallow mangroves.
