Humphead Parrotfish

About the Humphead Parrotfish

The largest parrotfish, with a bulbous forehead it uses to ram coral. It bites off chunks of living coral and grinds them, excreting tonnes of sand each year. Males have been recorded head-butting each other in contests. Sleeps in large groups, making it easy prey for night spearfishers.
