About the Pacific Bluefin Tuna
A giant tuna that spawns near Japan and crosses the entire Pacific to feed off California and Mexico. In 2019 a 278 kg fish sold at the Tokyo New Year auction for about 3.1 million dollars. Overfishing reduced its stock to a small fraction of historic levels.
