About the Goblin Shark
A pink, flabby deep-sea shark with a long, flat snout. Its jaws can shoot forward at high speed to snatch prey, one of the fastest jaw movements known in sharks. The only living member of a lineage dating back around 125 million years. Rarely seen alive, most specimens come from Japan.
