About the European Eel
Migrate 6,000 km from European rivers to the Sargasso Sea to spawn — and die. Their larvae drift back to Europe over 2-3 years. Can travel over land in damp grass for short distances. Transparent as glass eels. Population dropped 95% since the 1980s.
